Know Tammy

Tammy Ward served 24 years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police across Canada, in general duty, major crime, domestic violence, and community relations. She now transforms lived experience into practical language that helps people communicate openly, leaders respond with confidence, and stigma is replaced with support.

Uniforms change. Stakes don’t.

Across two decades, Tammy discovered that “I’m fine” is often the Other F Word – a polite mask that keeps teams quiet and silently suffering. Her keynotes replace silence with simple human phrases; teaches why talking can save a life; and show how to talk TO a person (not ABOUT the person). When people have the right words, courage rises and meaningful support becomes possible.

STORY

Tammy’s Story

From Barre to Badge to Microphone

Before the badge, there was the barre. Tammy taught classical ballet and jazz from age 19, studied dance in England, and paid her way through university by teaching. Purpose pulled her into policing, where she built a 24-year RCMP career and became known not only for leadership, but for connecting with people in their hardest moments.

In 2014, after a tragedy that left five officers shot and three fatally, Tammy was asked to help lead the fallen officers’ watch. The inspector didn’t keep her there for rank, he kept her because people talked to her. In a culture that prized stoicism, compassion proved to be operational strength. That insight fuels her work today.

Beyond the Uniform

Tammy stayed committed to health and mindset as a Top-5 level fitness competitor and an RYT-500 yoga instructor, skills she translates into accessible tools like breath, presence, and nervous-system regulation.

A devoted animal lover and co-founder/chair of Safe for Pets Too, she believes small acts of care are big acts of courage.

Today, she speaks so people can see what’s possible, first in themselves, then in each other.
